Except for the aerial gondola ride, the dancing-fountains show at Wynn Palace, in Macao, doesn’t have a thing on its progenitor at Bellagio. Well, nothing except a really bad, Broadway-style show tune (“We’ve got elegance”) that appears to have commissioned for the occasion. Once you hear it, you’ll be scarred for life.

It’s beautiful, but not original anymore. The gondolas, especially, look out-right absurd.
Thoughts?
Although Steve Wynn says Wynn Palace is the most beautiful hotel in the world, I beg to differ, at least as concerns the exterior, which strikes me as fugly, even repulsive. From what I have seen of the interiors, though, no expense was spared. If nothing succeeds like excess, Wynn Palace will be a runaway hit. But, judging by some his recent concepts, Steve Wynn is starting to repeat himself. I wonder if the times have finally caught up with him. Just idle speculation.
The tune is from Hello Dolly.
I was thinking the same thing. It seems like Wynn Design & Development is on “rinse and repeat”.
Architecturally speaking, MGM Cotai is going to be the most forward-looking of the new Macao megaresorts. Both Parisian and Grand Lisboa Palace (http://tinyurl.com/zpskzty) are deliberately retrograde, faux-19th century edifices and Wynn Palace … well, I have no idea what statement they were trying to make. It looks like a giant spaceship has crash-landed atop a bunch of Italian villas.
LOL. Good one Dave. Agreed on MGM.
