Archon Corp. Treasurer Sue Lowden has been called unflattering things in her life (mostly by the Culinary Union) but I’ll bet my soul “socialist” was never among them. Until now. Rival Danny Tarkanian flung the “S word” at her yesterday, according to Jon Ralston‘s Twitter feed. Perhaps Tarkanian was jolted by a poll that shows Lowden with a bigger lead than ever (although, working for the penny-pinching Las Vegas Review-Journal, pollster Brad Coker used an unreliably low sample [300 voters]). To go to the political epithet du jour so early in the game suggests panic over at Tarkanian HQ.
Personally, I never knew that it was standard socialist practice to strip the rank and file of their 401(k) matches while handing out six-figure executive bonuses, but I guess you learn something every day, huh? Also, while I severely, strenuously doubt Sen. Harry Reid‘s campaign operatives read S&G, they unwittingly took our suggestion and started pricking at the Lowdens’ softest underbelly, their notorious decision to close Wet ‘n Wild and turn it into a … a holding pen for construction equipment. Just keep running B-roll footage of that and Reid might have a feeble, anemic ghost of a chance.
– From the article:
“The “Tea Party of Nevada” filed organizational paperwork in January with the Nevada secretary of state. John Ashjian, a Las Vegas businessman and political newcomer, is being mentioned as its Senate contender.”
Good – the more the merrier to dilute the “conservative” vote.
Hehe. And now, Harry Reid is hitting her hard on Archon. And sorry, but she totally deserves all the incoming headed her way! Between all the Archon scandaliciousness, her disastrous tenure at the Nevada GOP, Baby Tark still nipping at her heels in the primary, the Tea Party candidate ready to siphon conservative votes away from her in the general, and Culinary 226 almost certain to clobber her as soon as she gets the GOP nomination, Suzy Lowdown is looking increasingly doomed… And I’m loving every minute of it! 🙂
