There are serial exaggerators and then there’s Donald Trump. An S&G reader forwarded an e-mail invitation to enter a contest whose grand prize is a two-night stay at Trump Toronto. Its touted value: $50,000. Considering that the winner’s airfare will only be covered up to $1K, that leaves 49 grand to cover two weekend hotel nights, a helicopter tour, a free breakfast and dinner, plus a comped spa treatment. Wow. I never realized that Toronto in late January was such a hot ticket. I might be wrong (though I doubt it) but you’d have a hard time running up a $50,000 tab in Vegas for all of the aforementioned, unless perhaps you were renting an MGM Grand Sky Villa, say, on a holiday weekend. Besides, you have to commit the Faustian pact of giving Trump’s minions your personal info so they can spam market to you for all eternity. Since Trump Toronto is another of Das Donald’s can’t-miss hotel-condo projects (fronted by Donald Junior), I reckon the “getaway” part is where the Trumpster disappears over the horizon with depositors’ money, leaving disgruntled tenants fuming in his wake.

I’ll take a R/T ticket to Vegas with two nights at a wraparound suite at the Cosmo and a couple of dinners. Let us know when that sweepstakes happens and in a timely fashion. Thanks in advance!
He is the master of self promotion. Can’t do an interview without mentioning how smart and wealthy he is. Never mentions how many times his casino’s went bankrupt. In reality he is jealous of Steve Wynn – who’s success in gaming the Donald was never able to come close to. A friend recently told me – he went into the Plaza (AC) to play poker. The room was a horror. Torn chairs, etc. he never sat down. Left immediately – never to return. Many years ago – we went into a restauarant at the Plaza. The sign proudly said – We serve Campbell’s soup. I don’t have to go to a restaurant for Campbell’s. I have enough at home.
